Registrar of Contractors Update

May 16, 2013

Over the past several months we have noticed some changes at the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC).  The ROC has implemented new procedures in the complaint process, for example:

1.  The ROC inspectors have started conducting interviews with contractors and homeowners early in the complaint process.  These interviews can have a substantial effect on how the case proceeds.  Before discussing your case with an inspector you should know your rights, the strengths of your case, and your weaknesses.  Our attorneys can assist you in assessing your case, avoiding mistakes and providing an effective interview.

2.  The ROC is collecting documentation earlier in the process.  Previously, many documents would not be necessary until a case was presented at a hearing.  Now, the inspectors are asking for claims to be documented before the complaint can proceed.  Our attorneys can assist you in identifying important documents and presenting a strong case.

As is true in traditional litigation, your first steps can shape the rest of your case.  Our attorneys are experienced in handling ROC complaints from start to finish.  For assistance with ROC matters in Tucson and throughout Arizona please contact one of our attorneys at: 520-792-0448 or attorneys@durazzo-eckel.com.
